When my children were in elementary and middle school, I always searched for ways motivate my kids to write and be creative. One summer, I introduced Keri Smith’s Wreck This Journal, a take-with-you compact book of writing prompts and activities. It’s a fun little book that may spark creative thinking and wonderment with silly, clever activities.
Do you think your kids need extra urging to be creative, too?
While I don’t think the Wreck this Journal prompt book will get kids writing per se, it could be a springboard for creativity and inspire other projects — even writing. (Writing prompts for kids here.)
Now, you can buy Wreck This Journal in color!
Wreck This Journal
They might just enjoy Wreck This Journal Everywhere. Or, even if they didn’t enjoy it, it would give them some creative thinking and writing.
Look what I found in my purse a few weeks ago! 🙂 A sweet note from my daughter out of Wreck This Journal Everywhere.
Apparently, our cat, Betty Lou, also likes to wreck journals. Who knew!?
As you plan for the long weeks of summer, see if this book of prompts will help your kids get back into writing. Do you think they would like these fun ideas and activities?
We also own and recommend Keri Smith’s other activity books: This is Not a Book and Tear Up This Book (American Girl.)
