Turns out, you can still be lovin’ it as an adult.
As a kid, the feeling of opening a Happy Meal box and discovering the week’s exclusive toy is simply magical. Once you’re a parent, you start living vicariously through your kiddos’ McDonald’s meals, feeling a wave of nostalgia with each unboxing. But now, adults have a chance to relive the magic with the fast-food chain’s first-ever Happy Meal for adults!
That’s right, Happy Meals sized for adults are launching in the United States on Oct. 3 (sadly, as of press time, we have no confirmation that they’ll be available in Canada, too). The “Cactus Plant Flea Market Box” is the result of a collaboration between McDonald’s and fashion label Cactus Plant Flea Market (CPFM). The box looks different than the usual Happy Meal, sporting an exclusive design, and there are no tiny cheeseburgers or mini fries in sight. This set comes with your choice of a Big Mac or 10-piece nuggets plus a medium Fries and drink.
But we all know the biggest question you’re thinking to yourself: Is there a toy?! Oh yes, there’s a toy, and it’s appropriately nostalgic.
The four collectibles are figurines designed by CPFM, with the lineup featuring the classic McDonald’s characters Birdie, Grimace and the Hamburglar. The fourth is ‘Cactus Buddy!,’ a character based on one of the fashion label’s graphics.
What a blast from the past! Just be prepared for your kids to look puzzled and ask who the characters are (their Happy Meals are all Minions and Pokemon these days).
In addition to the limited-edition figurines, customers who purchase the set through the McDonald’s mobile app will automatically be entered into a raffle for exclusive merch. This includes custom CPFM x McDonald’s t-shirts and a Grimace Chair (whatever that means!). They’ll also be on sale at the collaboration store website.
After McDonald’s dropped the big news on social media, it was immediately clear that Grimace is still a fan favourite!
Grimace of course!

So, whether you’re happy to see classic characters making a comeback or just simply looking to relive your childhood, you’re never too old for a Happy Meal.
