Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s little girl is too cute at her birthday picnic. She also posed with her mom and some family friends in a second photo.
Baby Lili is one! Prince Harry and Meghan Markle treated the world to a new photo of the birthday girl, our first real glimpse since she was six months old—and it’s clear that their little girl has inherited her dad’s signature red hair, just like her three-year-old brother Archie. So cute!
The family’s spokesperson revealed that they celebrated Lilibet Diana’s first birthday with a backyard picnic on Saturday at their UK home, Frogmore Cottage. Lili looked adorable in a blue dress with ruffled sleeves and a headband with a big white bow. It’s that toothy grin for us, though.
Harry and Meghan’s close friend, Misan Harriman, snapped the sweet shot of Lili sitting in the grass, a “candid, spontaneous photograph that the Duke and Duchess are pleased to share today.”
He also posted another pic of his wife, two daughters, Meghan with Lili on his Instagram. He said in the caption: “It was such a privilege to celebrate the 1st birthday of Lilibet with my family and hers! Joy and face painting all around.”
It looked like a fun and intimate first birthday party with smiles all around, just what a one-year-old needs. Harry and Meghan’s spokesperson added that they “remain incredibly touched by the countless birthday wishes for their daughter, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.” They were also “amazed to learn that people around the world made donations amounting to over $100K to the World Central Kitchen (WCK) in her honor.” How cool is that.
Meghan and Harry were in town for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee festivities, but unlike their cousins—Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis—Archie and Lilibet didn’t attend any of the events celebrating their great-grandmother. This was their daughter’s first trip to the UK (she was born in California) and her first time meeting her royal side of the family—including her namesake, the Queen, whose nickname is Lilibet.
Happy birthday, Lili!
