Where to Donate Toys on Long Island
1. Toys For Tots
The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys For Tots program might be one of the most recognizable organizations collecting new toys for less fortunate kids over the holidays. Residents can drop off new, unwrapped toys at one of the many pickup locations throughout Long Island. Most Toys For Tots 2023 sites have designated dates and times for drop-off, so check the website before you head out.
2. John Theissen Children’s Foundation Annual Toy Drive – Wantagh
The John Theissen Children’s Foundation has collected over 1 million toys for sick and unprivileged kids. Residents can donate toys in Long Island at the organization’s headquarters in Wantagh or one of the many drop-off locations in Nassau and Suffolk counties. Monetary donations are also appreciated.
3. Islip Town Youth Bureau Toy Drive
The Islip Town Youth Bureau is collecting new unwrapped toys at two locations, its headquarters on Main Street in Islip and Supervisor Carpenter’s office in Town Hall. Donations are requested by Monday, December 17, 2023, so the bureau can give toys to local children.

4. Operation Santa
Thousands of kids write letters to Santa each year, and in 1912, the U.S. Postal Service created a program to respond. Operation Santa answers letters from local children and allows people to fulfill their wishes. Long Islanders can review notes online and donate new toys to those in need. If your child wishes to write a letter to the North Pole, the Postal Service’s website has the address and details. All correspondence must be postmarked by Monday, December 11, 2023.
5. Helping Hands Rescue Mission – Huntington Station
This Huntington Station-based organization hopes to provide toys for over 1,000 children this year. Through Tuesday, December 12, 2023, families can drop off donations of new unwrapped toys at their headquarters Monday through Friday from 10am-4pm and Saturdays from 9am-1pm. Kids in need will receive two toys at the mission’s holiday parties.
6. Family Service League’s Project Toy
Family Service League’s Project Toy collects new unwrapped gifts for kids on Long Island. The agency hopes to provide for 3,000 children this year. Donations are accepted during November at the family centers in Bay Shore, Huntington, Mastic, and Riverhead.
7. Angels of Long Island – Mastic, Patchogue
Angels of Long Island started with humble beginnings, neighbors looking to help a needy family. It has now grown into a donation center, community outreach center, and thrift store. The organization focuses on helping local Long Island families in crisis. Drop off toys for kids and teen gifts at either the Mastic or Patchogue location.
8. Toys of Hope – Huntington Station
Toys of Hope is an all-volunteer charity, meaning 100% of donations go to needy and homeless children. You can drop off toys, organize a toy drive, or order right off the Amazon wishlist and have it delivered to the headquarters. Check the website for more information.
9. Big Brothers, Big Sisters Long Island – Westbury, Islandia
There are a few ways to help young boys and girls in need through Big Brothers, Big Sisters. You can sponsor a child or family, where you’ll receive a wishlist of three items and the likes of the children. You can also host a gift card or toy drive. Finally, you can shop directly from the organization’s Amazon wishlist.
