How To Make Instant Pot Pulled Pork Recipe
I have made pulled pork recipes, both the traditional way, and with my Instant Pot, and the Instant Pot wins every time, as far as superior flavor and saved time goes! This is hands down the easiest pork recipe you will ever make!
Not only does the Instant Pot shave off a ton of time, it also keeps your cooking healthier, and I swear it makes the pork juicier, and it packs all of the different flavors into the meat. The Instant Pot will also keep the meat warm if you are serving it at a party.

This Instant Pot Pulled Pork Recipe:
- Serves: 4-6
- Prep Time: 10 minutes
- Cook Time: 1 hour 15 minutes
Ingredients – Instant Pot Pulled Pork:
- 3-4 pound pork roast, shoulder or butt, cut into 4 chunks
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup chicken broth
- ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
Dry Rub
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar, packed
- 3 teaspoons kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1-2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes, depending on taste
- 1 teaspoon ground mustard
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
Serving
- BBQ Sauce
- Coleslaw
- Red Cabbage
Instructions – Instant Pot Pulled Pork:
STEP 1
It’s best if the pork is room temperature before cooking.
STEP 2
Add spices to a large bowl and whisk together.
STEP 3
Add pork to the bowl and toss until well coated.
STEP 4
Turn Instant Pot to saute setting and add olive oil until hot.
STEP 5
Add pork and brown on all sides, about 2 minutes for each side. Once all the pieces of pork are browned remove and set aside.
STEP 6
Add the chicken broth and deglaze the bottom of the pot, scrapping with a wooden spoon. Add the apple cider vinegar and mix together.
STEP 7
Place the chinks of pork into the pot and pressure cook on high pressure for 60 minutes with a 15 minute natural release. Manually release any remaining pressure.
STEP 8
Remove pork to a large platter or bowl and allow to rest for 5-10 minutes and shred with 2 forks.
STEP 9
Add BBQ sauce if you desire.
Can You Freeze Leftover Pulled Pork?

Make sure the pork is cooled all the way, and then place in airtight freezer containers or freezer bags.
Pulled pork can be frozen for up to 3-4 days if refrigerated, but up to 6 months if stored in the freezer.
