Supplies needed to make snail snacks
- Crescent roll dough sheet (or breadstick dough sheet)
- 1 carrot
- 1 tbs melted butter
Instructions for making snail snacks
Step 1
Before you get started, heat the oven to 375F.
Cut your dough sheet into strips about 1 inch wide and 4 1/2 inches long (this is to make bite-sized snails).
Melt the butter in a bowl and brush it onto each strip.
Step 2
Roll the strip of crescent dough into a snail shape. Tuck one end under and roll the rest over. Place your snail onto a baking tray.
Repeat this process until you have enough snails.
Put the tray into the oven for 5-6 minutes. Once they start browning they are done, so keep a close eye on them.
Step 3
Cut carrot sticks into small strips.
Using a knife make two very small slits in the front of each snail, and then insert the carrot sticks.
Dipping sauces for snail snacks
For sweet crescent roll snails serve bowls of Nutella, honey butter, chocolate ganache, or custard.
If you are making savory snails using breadstick dough, consider serving them with bowls of marina sauce, Bang Bang sauce, honey mustard, or cheese sauce.
