Spring break 2023 is just around the corner, and there is no better time to take advantage of all of the fun springtime activities in Westchester and the Hudson Valley.
To help you keep the kids busy and entertained all week, we’ve curated a list of 25 great things to do this spring break in Westchester and the Hudson Valley. Our picks range from Easter celebrations to the season-opening week of Legoland New York, and even some low-key programs at the local parks and libraries.

2. Easter Bunny pictures
Meet and greet, have breakfast, or even take a train ride with the Easter bunny at these local Easter Bunny photo-ops.
3. Ridge Hill Passover Festival
Head to Ridge Hill for the Pre-Passover Jewish Family Festival on April 2, with lots of great activities, music, and more.

Get behind the wheel of a tractor Muscoot Farms.
4. Spring break programs at local farms
Kids can meet farm animals and more at the great family-friendly farms in the area. In the Little Explorers program at Muscoot Farm on Tuesdays, kids can enjoy crafts as well as animal and nature activities.
5. Nature center spring programs
The Westchester county parks offer a variety of children’s programs throughout the year, but some special ones are on the schedule to celebrate spring, including a spring scavenger hunt and a special program about frogs and toads.
6. Bubblemania!
Casey Carle presents Bubblemania!, an interactive show featuring thousands of bubbles, including fog-filled bubble art and bubbles that audience members can fit inside.
7. Spring break art workshops
The Katonah Museum of Art is holding art workshops for kids throughout the day during the week of spring break, from April 4-7, with a new theme every day.
8. Professor Pickle’s Magic Show
Professor Pickle presents a free hour-long show at the New Rochelle Public Library with magic, juggling, bubbles, and more on Thursday, April 6 from 2-3pm.
9. Legoland Opening Week
Check out the special seasonal kids’ programs at the Legoland Discovery Center at Ridge Hill. Or take a day trip to Legoland New York in Goshen. The outdoor theme park opens on March 31, with special opening week festivities happening through April 9.

10. Spring break at The Edge Virtual Reality
Have a spring break adventure without leaving Westchester at The Edge VR open during spring break from April 4 to 10. The light gear allows for an advanced, free-roam VR experience superior to that of a standard VR headset.
11. Big Truck Day
All big truck fans are invited to check out a variety of big trucks in the Chappaqua Library parking lot on Tuesday, April 4. Don’t forget the camera for photos.
12. Easter Bonnet Parade with alpacas
Head to Lilymoore Farm for a glimpse of the fun Easter Bonnet Parade with the Alpacas, which runs on April 1 and 2 and 8 and 9.
13. Storm King Art Center
Take a day trip over to Storm King Art Center, but be sure to reserve your tickets in advance—the spring season kicks off on April 1.
14. Spring break programs at local museums
Check out the weekend story time at the Westchester Children’s Museum, with multiple time slots every weekend in April and May. Also, learn to make a string marionette at this puppeteering workshop on Monday, April 3 at the Mid-Hudson Discovery Museum. Read more about local museums with programming for kids.

Cherry blossoms will soon be in bloom at Harbor Island Park.
15. Spring cherry blossoms
Marvel at the gorgeous cherry blossoms at Harbor Island Park, which is also home to one of our favorite local playgrounds. 16. Free Ice Cream Cones
Celebrate the warmer weather at one of the best local ice cream shops in the area—and don’t forget about Free Cone Day at Ben & Jerry’s on April 3!

17. Amazing Butterflies Exhibit at Lasdon Park
Check out Lasdon Park & Arboretum’s newest exhibit, Amazing Butterflies, which runs through May 7. Don’t miss a walk through the dinosaur garden while you are there.
18. Boundless Adventures ziplining
Conquer the obstacle course at Boundless Adventures, which opens March 25; it’s great for the 7+ crowd.
19. Amphibian Night Hike
….at night (!) at Westmoreland Sanctuary’s Amphibian Night-Hike on April 7.

20. Spring at Bear Mountain State Park
Hit one of the many hiking trails at Bear Mountain State Park and finish off with a picnic by the lake, a carousel ride, or a visit to the Trailside Zoo.

Pump up your tires and go on one of these safe and scenic bike rides.
22. Earth Day celebrations
Kids can learn about conservation in a special Earth Day puppet show with kindie rock musician Jumpin’ Jamie. Teens can learn how to upcycle in a sustainable crafts workshop.
