We are on a roll this year! We have made so many different homemade Valentines day cards for everyone and we’re not stopping yet! These cards allow kids to be kind by giving someone else a gift. But they also get to practice fine motor skills and explore colors, different painting techniques, and in this instance… use glitter.
Y’all how much we like glitter. Just be sure to add something beneath your cards to catch excess paint and glitter to ensure a mess free Valentine’s day craft. Or a nearly mess free painting craft anyway. So without further ado, let’s make a DIY Valentines Day card!

Supplies Needed To Make A DIY Valentines Day Card
Step 1
Download and print our heart coloring page and cut out the heart. Cut your paint paper down to fit your envelope.
Step 2
Place the paper heart cut out on your paint paper and lightly trace around it with a pencil.
Step 3
Paint the inside of the heart pink, but don’t make it dark.
Step 4
Start painting hearts inside the big heart. Make medium hearts, small hearts, all the hearts!
Outline the hearts so they are dark around the edges.
Step 5
Put dots of glue around your big heart and add your glitter, shaking off the excess.
Step 6
Write Happy Valentine’s Day at the bottom.

- Make mazes inside of the big heart.
- Use stickers instead of painting hearts.
- Draw hearts with a crayon.

Our Experience With This Fun DIY Valentines Day Card Craft
We had so much fun making this card. This sweet Valentine’s day card is just so cute. It’s filled with colorful hearts, has glitter, it’s just really nice. And my kids loved making them.
We have a collection of homemade Valentines day cards now that we are going to hand out to neighbors, family, and friends.
