Now open for the winter season, Roebling Rink at Brooklyn Bridge Park in Dumbo welcomes ice skaters of all ages to take a spin under one of New York City’s most iconic landmarks.
It would be tough to find a more breathtaking backdrop for a family ice skating outing than the waterfront city views at Roebling Rink at Brooklyn Bridge Park. Nestled right below the Brooklyn Bridge itself, the seasonal pop-up destination welcomes skaters for one hour ice sessions from Monday to Sunday now through February 2nd.
Of course, I couldn’t pass up an invitation to take my daughters and husband for a spin at what I can now only imagine is Brooklyn’s most picturesque rink. So, we bundled up tight and laced up our skates, and I’m here to share the ins and outs of rentals, admission, and more at DUMBO’s must-visit Roebling Rink.
The opportunity to skate right under the Brooklyn Bridge is unmatched.
Where is Roebling Rink located?
Located at Emily Warren Roebling Plaza in Dumbo’s Brooklyn Bridge Park, Roebling Rink sits directly under the Brooklyn Bridge–right by the park entrance at New Dock Street.
The rink is easily accessible by the F train (York Street) and the A/C trains (High Street), or by bus. There are a number of parking garages in the area as well.
Is skate rental available?
Yes! When purchasing your tickets, you’ll have the option to add skate rentals for an additional fee. On-site, both figure skates and hockey skates are available–all on a first-come, first-served basis. Let the staff know if you have a preference.
Try renting a skate aid for a little extra support out on the ice.
Can we rent a skate aid?
Yup! Skate buddies can also be added when ordering tickets–or purchased on-site when available. I booked one for my 6-year-old and 8-year-old to share and it really helped them get their footing on the ice. Plus, they loved that the skate aid offered the option to either sit and get pushed around or to stand and use it as a support.
Note that helmets can also be rented. We opted to get them for both kids, as they always give me peace of mind.
What should we bring to the rink?
Hats, gloves, and other cold weather accessories will go a long way when skating along the waterfront! Although we found that we warmed up a bit after spending some time on the rink. You might also consider snowpants or rainpants for kids (or adults…) who are likely to take a number of tumbles and may end up wet from the ice.
If you own your own skates or opt to bring your own helmets, those are welcome. And, while outside food and drink aren’t permitted, water and water bottles are allowed.
Can we store our belongings somewhere while we skate?
Lockers are free, but also first-come first-served–and it’s worth noting that they’re on the smaller side. Best to limit any belongings that won’t come out on the ice with you. Fortunately, we had no trouble snagging two lockers between the four of us for our shoes and a backpack.

Is there stroller parking at Roebling Rink?
Yup! Just see a staff member when checking in for help with your stroller.
Is the skating rink entirely outdoors?
Yes, the ice skating rink itself is outdoors. And, while it is directly beneath the bridge, the bridge is high enough up there to offer pretty minimal coverage–just beautiful ambiance! Do keep in mind that bad weather can require rescheduling of your reservation.
The skate rental area and lockers are housed in an enclosed space, along with a number of benches. So you can get suited up inside, or seek respite from the cold in there as needed.
When is Roebling Rink open?
Roebling Rink will be open through February 2, 2025. Skating is available Monday to Thursday from 2:00-9:00pm, and Friday to Sunday from 10:00am-10:00pm. Each session is 60 minutes, and the ice is cleared at the end of each one.
Roebling Rink makes for a memorable destination for the whole family.
How do I get tickets to Roebling Rink?
Just visit the Roebling Rink website to select your date and skate session and book your tickets. Skating admission is $10–and you can also opt for “No Skate Admission” if you’ll be supervising kids but not getting on the ice yourself. Once you hit “Checkout,” you’ll see the option to add skates, helmets, and skate aids.
Are there any discounts available?
There sure are! Round up some friends and get a 10% discount on admission when you purchase 10 tickets or more.
Also, if you’re a local, the rink offers two FREE sessions for Brooklyn residents on Sundays from 10:00-11:00am and Mondays from 5:00-6:00pm! Tickets are first-come, first-served and must be booked in person with a valid Brooklyn address on your ID.
What else can we do around Roebling Rink?
The charming and historic DUMBO neighborhood is packed with family-friendly restaurants and activities. We warmed up with burgers and fries at the Shake Shack right across from the rink, but Luke’s Lobster, Grimaldi’s, and the nearby Time Out Market New York are all perfect pit stops.
Explore more of Brooklyn Bridge Park with a walk down the waterfront, stop by one of the area’s many beloved playgrounds, and catch a ride on Jane’s Carousel for the best end to the day!
Really, don’t miss the chance to skate at this totally epic Brooklyn Bridge Park ice rink this season. Visit the Roebling Rink website for more details and to purchase tickets.
