How To Make A Robot
Anyone that knows me know that I am all about making recycled crafts. I save all my toilet paper tubes, paper towel tubes, empty cans, yogurt containers, plastic lids, snack boxes, and the list goes on. So I dove into my recycling stash to come up with this quirky cereal box robot you can make with the kids! A recycled robot craft has got to be one of my best ideas yet.
Crafting is such wonderful bonding time, and also a good time to teach children lessons. Like the importance of taking care our planet. Recycling and upcyling are a couple of ways to do this. Plus, easy recycled and upcycled crafts for kids allow you to craft and stay within a budget, since most of your supplies are things that you would’ve discarded otherwise! It can be such a rewarding and memorable crafting experience.
I also love recycled crafts because it’s a great way to use your imagination, and teaches resourcefulness, working with what you already have!

How To Make A Super Awesome Robot From Recycled Materials
Step 1
To give the robot’s body some weight, first you’ll want to put something inside the cereal box. I used an old sweatshirt. An old towel, a bag of dried beans, lots of wadded up newspaper, anything like that will work!
Step 2
Wrap the cereal box in aluminum foil and use tape to secure.
Step 3
Use a craft knife to carve holes in the side of the box for the arms.
Step 4
Cut the paper towel tube in half, and wrap both halves in aluminum foil.
Step 5
Insert the tubes into the sides of the cereal box.
Step 6
Wrap each of the cans in aluminum foil.
Step 7
Use various lids to decorate the front of the cereal box.
Step 8
Glue lids onto the large can for eyes; then glue bottle caps to the lids for the pupils.
Step 9
Glue a metal nut on as the nose.
Step 10
Draw several lines onto white paper, then draw a single line through those lines. Use scissors to cut mouth from the lined paper and tape to the tin can.
Step 11
Wrap silver pipe cleaner around a pencil, then glue inside the large can.
Step 12
Glue the head and legs to the cereal box to complete your robot.
