Fun Things to Do on Mother’s Day 2023 in Boston
1. Stop and smell the flowers
Head to the Spring BloomFest in North Andover. While Stevens-Coolidge Place is not hosting a Mother’s Day picnic, you can still grab tickets to stroll the ground and admire the beautiful flowers.
2. Quack like a duck
Gather your little waddler(s) and head to the Boston Commons for Duckling Day. Inspired by the book Make Way for Ducklings by Robert McCloskey, each family can join hundreds of children parading through Boston’s most picturesque parks, dressed like characters from the story.

3. Take a boat ride
The famous Swan Boats are back. Treat Mom to a relaxing cruise around the Boston Public Garden.
4. Visit with the animals

For women who have lost children to violence, Mother’s Day is a poignant reminder of young lives lost. The Mother’s Day Walk for Peace raises funds to help build peace in schools, supports families of homicide victims, and trains providers, faith leaders, and professionals working with youth impacted by violence.
7. Learn about extraordinary women
Is Mom a history buff? Travel back in time and spend the day learning about the amazing women that lived in the 19th century at Old Sturbridge Village.
8. Grab a cool treat while chilling with animals
If Mom has a sweet tooth, skip the fancy meals and head to one of these farms with ice cream stands instead. The kids will stay busy visiting with the animals so mom can have every last lick of her favorite flavor.

For a day full of culture, head to the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. A day at the museum is always a treat, and this year admission is free on Mother’s Day! The Highland Street Foundation has sponsored a celebration of Moms with complimentary tickets on a first-come, first-served basis.
