Making a paper mosaic is a fun rainbow craft for kids of all ages including younger kids (when you do a little prep work). This easy mosaic art technique uses paper mosaic tiles and could have a million uses in the classroom and at home and the resulting rainbow art is really cool.

Step 1
Cut the paper plate in half and cut all but 1-inch of the center out creating a rainbow arch using the outside of the paper plate as the exterior part of the rainbow.
Step 2
Cut scrapbook paper into small squares. We like to use patterned paper, but you could also just create the squares for the mosaic with construction paper or solid colored paper.
Step 3
Glue red squares around the outer edge.
Step 4
Glue orange squares under the red squares.

Following this same pattern, glue squares down the rainbow: yellow, green, blue, purple.

- white paper plate
- colorful variety of paper – red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple
Instructions
- Cut the paper plate in 1/2 and cut out a 1/2 circle from the middle to create an arch with the remaining paper plate.
- Cut scrapbook paper into 1 inch squares or use a square punch.
- Glue the paper squares in lines creating bands of color like a rainbow.
