Directions to Make a Rainbow Band Ring without a Loom
Step 1
Choose two bands to make the ring portion of your rubber band ring. It is easiest to choose one color for both bands so you can easily identify which rubber bands make up the band of your ring. In the pictures above, we chose black rubber bands.
Step 2
Choose 3 rubber bands that will make up the jewel portion of your ring. It is easiest to choose one color for all three bands. In the pictures above, we chose pink rubber bands.
Step 3
Take one ring band and one jewel rubber band (one black and one pink) and you loop the jewel band through folding it over the ring band.
Step 4
Continue looping the remaining 2 jewel rubber bands (pink) through and over each other.
Step 5
When you have the three jewel rubber bands looped together in a row, grab your unused ring rubber band (black in the pictures) and loop it through the end jewel band pulling the loop through so it is knotted with a slip knot.
Step 6
You now have 2 ring loops (black) at each end of the jewel braid (pink). Fold the entire rubber band structure so that the two ring loops (black) are on top of each other and put your finger through the two ring loops (black).
I love simple activities! Once your kids get the hang of it they can make these anywhere at any time! And they will swap buckets of them with their pals!
