You don’t need a ton of supplies to make this mulling spice recipe. Just some herbs that you can buy in bulk!
Best Mulling Spices Recipe:
- Makes 2 cups
- Prep Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients – Mulling Spices Recipe
- 3 oz. cinnamon sticks
- 1/4 cup allspice berries
- 1/3 cup cardamom pods
- 1/4 cup whole cloves
- 1/4 cup star anise pods
- 1/3 cup dried orange peel – store bought or dried in oven
- 1/4 cup black peppercorns
Instructions – Mulling Spices Recipe
STEP 1
Place cinnamon sticks, cardamom pods, allspice berries, cloves and star anise in large resealable bag.
STEP 2
Crush with rolling pin.
STEP 3
Add orange peel and peppercorns to bag and toss to mix well.
STEP 4
Store in airtight container.
Notes
To serve – add 2 tablespoons per ½ gallon of apple cider.
Serve warm or room temperature.

Mulling spices can remain good for up to 3-4 years, but I prefer to swap them out for fresh after 6 months at the most.
