1. King Tut, also known as King Tutankhamen, King Tutankhamun, or King Tutankhamon, was the antepenultimate Egyptian pharaoh of the Eighteenth Dynasty of ancient Egypt.
2. He was often referred to as Boy King as he became a king at a very young age -he was only 9 years old when he ruled Ancient Egyptians.
3. He was the son of King Akhenaten, a controversial figure, who attempted to shift Egypt’s religious focus to the worship of the sun of god, Aten.
4. His mother is unknown but could have been Queen Nefertiti.
5. King Tutankhamun’s tomb was discovered in 1922 by British archaeologist Howard Carter and remains in the Valley of the Kings in Luxor, Egypt.

6. King Tut’s tomb was the only royal burial found intact in modern times.
7. He wore sandals that had paintings of his enemies on the soles – that way, he could always trample on them.
8. The treasures of Tutankhamun’s tomb included statues, gold, jewelry, Tutankhamun’s mummy, chariots, model boats, chairs, and paintings.
9. Tutankhamun died when he was only 18 and his body was mummified.
10. You can visit Tutankhamun’s tomb, although some people think it is cursed, so enter at your own risk!
