Looking for a good book bag? Well, look no further. After years of trial and error, I can tell you what the best book bags are and where to buy them. Because on a typical weekly visit to the library, we check out at least 30 books. So I need the best book bag that will hold all of our reading materials.
First of all, books are heavy so we need a good, sturdy bag. You do, too, I imagine.
Next, as far as book bag design, I recommend buying a bag with 1) a flat bottom and 2) a pocket for your library card. The flat-bottom bags don’t tip over, so you can set them down near you and fill them up with books. And the pocket means you don’t have to carry your purse or wallet…your library card is right in your bag, ready to go. I love that, don’t you?
I also recommend that you don’t get a light color; it just looks dirty all the time. But it’s up to you because you could always wash it. (*note to self!)
Yes, a washable or waterproof book bag for our family is a must! We wear out book bags — and they look disgusting after a few years. With two kids, two dogs, and a car that isn’t, ahem, always clean, we need something that doesn’t look like I ran over it in my car during a mud storm.
This list of book bags is all online, on Amazon but you can always look at brick and mortar store sales (Barnes and Noble sometimes has cute book bags) or find cheap book bags at Walmart, too.
Check out the list of book bags and see if you spot your next favorite book bag. I know I have many favorites on this list!

1. Library Due Date Tote Bag
Our children have no clue about the old school due date return card design but those of us book lovers feel nostalgic anytime we see one. Or at least, I do. I like this not just for the retro design but because it’s canvas (washable!) and has a flat bottom.
2. Kate Space Tote Bag
This canvas book bag is darling and features an interior pocket. The only downside is that it’s small and doesn’t have a flat bottom.
2. Canvas Tote with Front Pocket.
Canvas makes this book bag a great option for heavy books; just wash it frequently.
3. Zip-top Book Tote
I think the material in this durable book bag is excellent for parents with young kids.

Isn’t this a cute and functional book bag choice for all your books? I like that it has a large front pocket and adjustable handles.
8. Zip Up Tote
This easy-to-carry tote bag comes in a lot of patterns, so if you don’t like this floral pattern, you can find a pattern you do like. It has a fully lined interior, side pocket, and exterior zippered pocket.

From Out of Print, celebrate the best of banned books with this small tote!
