For a fantastic, FREE opportunity to improve baseball or softball skills, the 2025 Astros Youth Academy Summer Camps are a top choice for kids in the Houston area. These camps are available to boys and girls ages 7-17. Held weekly from Monday to Friday, each camp session runs from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Sylvester Turner Park – Astros Youth Academy. The camps are led by the Astros Youth Academy instructional staff, who focus on all aspects of the game, including fielding, hitting, and overall technique. While current Houston Astros players and coaches aren’t directly involved in daily activities, the experienced staff ensures that each camper receives top-tier coaching. Registration opens online on May 14, 2025, at 12:00 noon CST, and spots fill up quickly.

2. University of Houston Cougar Baseball Camps – UH Main Campus
Ages: 6-13
The University of Houston Cougar Baseball Camps are designed for players of all levels and offer the chance to learn from collegiate coaches and players. Kids will work on their hitting, fielding, and catching techniques, and each day includes live gameplay to put those skills into action. The camps are divided by age and ability, ensuring that every player gets the attention they need. Lunch can be purchased on-site or brought from home, and in case of bad weather, the camp has an indoor space to keep things running smoothly.
3. Houston Baseball Camp – Rice University
Ages: 6-13
Led by Jose Cruz Jr. and elite Rice University baseball players and coaches, these camps offer kids the chance to train on a top-tier college baseball field. The four-day camps emphasize skill development, building confidence, and fostering a love for the game. 4. Nike Baseball Camp at Scrapyard Sports – Conroe
Ages: 5-12
Coached by the expert staff at Scrap Yard Sports, this camp takes players’ skills to the next level. The camp covers all aspects of the game—hitting, fielding, base-running, and game situations—so your child will leave with a solid foundation and newfound confidence in their abilities. With a low camper-to-coach ratio, campers get personalized attention and instruction. The camp runs for four days, with half-day and full-day options available.
5. D-BAT Summer Camps – Multiple Locations
Ages: 5-13
D-BAT training facilities throughout Houston offer an excellent opportunity for young baseball players to improve their skills this summer. The camps focus on all aspects of the game, with skilled coaches providing individual instruction to help players develop their abilities. Camps run daily from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at most D-BAT locations, and your child can sign up for as many or as few days as you’d like throughout June, July, and August. It’s a flexible option that works with any schedule.

8. Space Cowboys Baseball Camp – Sugar Land
