Ways To Make This Clay Heart Craft Your Own
Just like our other Valentine’s day crafts you can make this craft your own by making changes like:
- Decorate the inside by stamping round beads to make colorful circles instead of flowers.
- Brush the inside with colors using a fan paintbrush to make an abstract heart.
- Poke holes in the side with a wooden skewer before baking and weave a ribbon in and out of it, making a pretty loop around your bowl.
- Use stamps to stamp pictures in your heart.
- Color Valentine’s day coloring pages and mod podge the pictures in the bowl.
- Don’t fold up the top and make clay heart ornaments for the holiday season.
- Use air dry clay instead of salt dough.
- Use a bowl of water to smooth out the edges so everything is super straight and need so it looks less like a handmade valentine.
- Make smaller heart shapes and make multiple plates.
Our Experience With This Clay Heart Craft For Valentine’s Day
I’m always looking for creative ideas for Valentine’s day that don’t involve candy and sweets…though we like those too. But sometimes you need more than junk on a holiday, and this came to mind as it can be the perfect gift for family and friends!
My kids loved making these heart shaped dishes. Though not all of them decorated with flowers like I did. My son used his best cars stickers, and my other little one added small heart stickers on all the sides of the heart. And my youngest basically finger painted. And that’s okay, because it’s their heart and they can do what they want with it! I hope your family enjoyed this clay heart craft as much as we did!
