1. Bison’s Bluff Nature Playground
Bison’s Bluff Nature Playground is a must-see park where kids are fully immersed in nature. You’ll find logs, boulders, water, sand, and play structures that mimic nature. Kids will experience playing on a rock bluff, a flowing stream, and fallen logs, all from the safety of a play place. Adults and children under two are free. Resident admission is $2 and non-residents are $3.
2. Spring Valley Nature Center
Bison’s Bluff Nature Playground is located within the Spring Valley Nature Center. The Spring Valley Nature Center is free to explore. There are interactive exhibits, an activity area, a library, a live turtle display area, and a learning garden. After the visit to the nature center, take a nature walk through the trails. Along the grounds, you’ll find Heritage Farm. The farm is free to visit. Help with seasonal farm chores, play games, visit the livestock, and visit with authentically dressed farm interpreters.
3. LEGOLAND Discovery Center
LEGOLAND Discovery Center in Schaumburg boasts millions of LEGO bricks, and over 12 attractions and rides. This two-story LEGO experience features Miniland with 1.5 million LEGO bricks, a LEGO cafe, and tons of spaces to let your creator get building with the kids.

4. Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament
Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament is a themed dinner show where you can watch jousting matches and horses. The show features knights in armor competing for the championship. Each seat is located in a different knight’s section, so you’ll want to cheer big for your knight.
You can feast on a turkey leg as big as your head all while eating with your hands in true medieval style. If your kids love horses or knights, this dinner and show is a one-of-a-kind experience.
5. Woodfield Mall
Woodfield Mall is the largest mall in Illinois. With over 300 retail stores, there is something for every little shopper. Popular kid shops include Build-A-Bear Workshop, Carters, Claire’s, Crocs, Janie and Jack, JD Sports, LEGO, Squishable, and Yu Kids Island. Yu Kids Island is an indoor play space that’s great for burning off some energy in between shopping.

6. The Water Works
The Water Works is an indoor water park located in Schaumburg. It has 3 water slides, a rapid water channel, a spray ground, a diving pool, a lap pool, a zero-depth pool, and more. The Water Works is completely indoors, making it a great winter option. Daily admission is $6-$8 for residents and $8-$10 for non-residents.
7. IKEA
If you’re looking to redecorate a kid’s room or set up a college dorm, IKEA in Schaumburg is the place. There are thousands of square feet to explore and endless amounts of home inspiration. Shop for big kid beds, new baby items, and an adorable selection of kids’ bedding, toys, furniture, and more. The restaurant also features kids’ meatballs and mac and mac-and-cheese dinners for under $3. Feed the entire family after a day of shopping for under $20.

Maxfield’s Pancake House
